After my Speck cases for my 13.3' Macbook Pro with Retina Display that costed me $35 broke, I decided to try a cheaper alternative online. Aft first, I was skeptical about this product because it costs so much less than the Speck case and given how simple manufacturing I was wondering how they could cut corners, but I can confidently say corners are not cut. This case is pretty much the exact same as my old Speck case for a third of the price. I have never been happier with my purchase. No plastic is indestructible, but this seems just as sturdy as my old case. It offers a little less coverage in the back like the other reviews said but its marginal and insignificant to me. There are some notable reasons why I gave this product 5 stars: 1.

Though I don't think mine will break down anytime soon! I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro 13.3” with retina Display, so I needed a case that would not only protect my investment, but would also make my laptop look good! This case was a perfect fit for the laptop and once I have snapped the cover on, there are no issues with the cover coming on in transport or opening. My one complaint would be that the cover does not fully cover the back of the MacBook back, but depending on how it is stored, that may not be an issue for some. The case does show some oil prints from your hands if you get a darker color, which mine was blue so it’s not terribly noticeable and can be solved with a good wipe. The case comes with a silicone keyboard cover which I am still on the fence about. The first keyboard cover was not cut.

So it's not 100% protected but it does a good job of covering most of the laptop. It's made of a thick plastic and the outer material of the case has a nice glossy feel to it. I love putting a case around my laptop so I can place stickers all over the case and don't have to worry about taking it off. Overall, a case that does a great job protecting and doesn't add too much bulk to the laptop either.

New marketing tools. Very clean look! I love the case and contrary to my concern that it may not release heat well, I have no problems with it whatsoever in that department. My mac does not get heated and it protects the laptop well. It definitely gives me the peace of mind when taking my mac wherever I go.

I had to contact customer service to ask for a bottom case replacement because it wouldn't lock tight as it used to after taking it out to clean several times (somehow, that problem resolved on its own in a couple of days, meaning it started locking back in; not sure what caused it to loosen and then tighten back). But anyhow, the seller was real quick and sent me a bottom case replacement right away-received it within 3 days. I previously had a Kuzy case and key cover that finally cracked after about 2.5 years and this is honestly pretty much the same thing. I would describe the case as a semi hard plastic material. It fits securely onto my MacBook and I think it will protect it from scratches, dust, etc. FYI - I do not really think of this case as protective, if that's what you are looking for. If you dropped your laptop, the case would likely crack. Overall great product!
