Lan 2100 3a Mini Pci Adapter Driver For Mac

The problem is almost everytime that a wireless connection boots up, I lose my internet connection at the modem. There is a light on the modem that is lit solid when I have a connection and blinks when I don't. This is fairly random - sometimes all I have to do is turn on a laptop - modem light starts to blink, no internet connection for the laptop or the hardwired machines.

Sometimes I can run for hours before the connection drops. If I turn off the laptop, internet connection comes back.

If I turn off the wireless and plug the laptops into the router, no problem. Sometimes I can even tell when a neighbor turns on thier wireless laptop - because I will lose connection. I have the same problem, but I am convinced that is somehow related to the cable connection. I will be online for anywhere between 2 minutes to 10+ hours and then boom! The internet goes out on the modem.

At first I thought that it might be the router but I tried a friends Netgear router as well as my old Belkin (it was not compatible with the Nintendo DS so I replaced it with something that was)and had the same problem at some point or another with them. Plus after having Comcast come out several times they eventually replaced the modem and then for 2 weeks to a month I had no problem at all. But eventually the problem would come back and I would get comcast to come out here 3 or 4 more times until they eventually would replace the modem again, and once again at that point no problems for 2 weeks to a month. This has been going on for 9 months or so now where every 2 months or so I get a new cable modem and then it eventually craps out on me again. Comcast say that the router is faulty and I say no it cannot be for every routers I use has the same problem, so unless the router and the modems are incompatible on some level and the router causes the modem to short out temporarily then it has to be something with the signal or the line (my guess is some sort of signal spike). For even when I hook up directly to my Wired desktop I have the problem at some point too, now that I think of it. Plus I have had three separate models of modems too (one Motorola, one 3Com, and two RCA modems) and all of them eventually start cutting out on me.

The last time they were out they not only replaced the modem but also re-ran the entire line from the main line in the alley, and since then it has been all good since then, which was about 5-6 weeks ago. So here is hoping that will fix the problem, because with being a full-time online student I NEED a reliable and constant Internet connection.

One last thing I have the WRT54G v.4 as well now. In less than 1 day this slid to page 2. Does that mean that no one has a clue or there are too many problems with Linksys wireless routers? In my case, I know it isn't the modem because everything works great until I turn on any wireless connection. Today I replaced the modem with a new one (Linksys Cable Modem BEFCMU10) and everything worked great.until I tried to make a wireless connection.

I immediately lost connection to the internet on all computers when I booted up a laptop with wireless. So - does anybody have a clue why the WRT54G causes my modem to drop the internet connection when wireless is turned on? I as well have the same issue or similar. I have a Linksys WRT54GS v4 firmware 1.06.1 and a DELL Latitude D505 with an Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter driver 1.2.4.35. I have MAC filter active with WPA - personal and I can remain connected fairly consistently, but if I do anything with any serious download, the the wireless network connection physically drops. If I have a continuous ping going, when the disconnect happen I get a hardware error, which originally I believed was an internal wireless card issue, but now that I have had DELL replace 2 wireless cards and the exact same issue occurs, I am starting to lean toward the Router as being the problem. I have tried to modify my TCP Rcv window (RWin) to work with the actual configuration of the internal wireless adapter, but with no avail.

I have determined by proper TCP Receive window by utilizing the formula (((((average RTT time in ms) x 1.5 ) x (average advertised speed in kbps)) / 8) /1460) then round up to next even number then multiply by 1460 = Optimal RWin. This has not improved the disconnects at all.

I am running out of options, since I am fairly certain that the Router does have a problem but not sure where to determine the problem is currently at.
