Logic Studio 9 Plus Added Plug-ins For Mac

Posted on

Hi all, I'm pretty new with macs.I'm thinking of using logic studio 9 for composition purposes.I have a few questions regarding which hardware would suit my usage the best. Would the 15' MBP with 3.06 intel core 2 duo with 8GB memory allow me to open up lots of tracks plus tonnes of plugins at the same time without crashing? If option 1 doesn't have the power what instead should I be getting? Imac or macpro??

Any other issues plus tips I could have possibly missed? Please help.thx. Regards, ben. Why do you specifically ask about a laptop? Do you need the portability? Will you be working from one workstation at home? Don't get a laptop unless you need the portability.

You'll get way more bang for your buck with an iMac or tower. Really, IMHO, the ONLY reason to use a laptop as a DAW is if you specifically need the portability. Otherwise use an iMac or a tower. And in terms of plug ins; you mention drums and synths, etc from Logic. Well, it's important to know which plug ins? Are you planning on running Omnisphere or BFD 2 for example? Those would be well served by a computer with much more ram.

Are you planning on using Stylus RMX? That would benefit more from more CPU processing power.

So, it depends which plug ins, and what your portability needs are, etc.
